Dainippon Beer had been engaged in the cultivation and research of hops since the Kaitakushi Beer Brewery days. One effort of these labors was Shinshu Wase hops. This high quality cultivar was developed in 1910 and continues to be in use today. One issue with hops is that they are prone to disease and difficult to cultivate. The company’s expertise in the area of hops development came to the fore when coaching local producers, and continues to play a role today in our procuring the best ingredients.
