In April 2013, sales of the "Sapporo Otoko Ume Sour" (350 mL can) began in limited quantities. The drink features the unique flavor of "Otoko Ume" candy sold by Nobel Confectionery Co. Ltd. Starting the following year, it became a year-round product, and opened up new demand for umeboshi (pickled plum) flavored beverages, which had not previously been available in the conventional RTD (Note 1) market.
