Our firm has long been engaged in research and development of barley. In 1981, this research finally bore fruit. The outcome was Haruna Nijo. Until that time, it was deemed all but impossible to produce a rapid-growing, high-quality strain of barley. Haruna Nijo upended that thinking, even going so far as to surpass the best Western strains of barley. It is widely used as a parent strain for developing high-quality breeds of barley, so it has come to be talked about as the “barley of miracles.”
